Tempering glass When glass is heated to the critical softening point and pressure forms on its surface through fast and even cooling, tempered glass is made. During the cooling process, the exterior of the glass solidi-fies due to fast cooling while the interior contracts as a result of slow cooling, thus generating pressure on the surface of the glass and tensile stress inside. In this way, the intensity and thermo-stability of the glass is improved.
